How does the Golf Performance Program Work?

We combine the best of the Titleist Performance Institute, Power Generation Testing, Launch MonitorTechnology, Video Swing Analysis, Physical Therapy, and Corrective Exercise to create a customized Golf Performance Plan for you.

What can I expect on the Golf Performance Assessment?

*All plans start with a Golf Performance Assessment for objective base-line data.

The ClearCut ORTHO Golf Performance Assessment or GPA is an assessment of the golfer’s entire physical and golf specific performance. It graded on a 4-point scale, much like in school, to estimate success on the golf course and track improvements.

This is the most complex and comprehensive evaluation for a golfer, unlocking secrets within your own body and providing essential information on pain, mobility, strength, and power restrictions or compensations patterns limiting your body’s efficiency during the golf swing.

We start with the TPI Movement Screening, then Power Generation Testing, followed by Video Swing Analysis with Launch Monitor readings/comparatives, and finally we do some hands-on Corrective Exercises and Golf Drills to address your “Focus Areas” discovered in the previous tests.

  • The Titleist Performance Institute Movement Screen is comprised of 16 different golf specific movements. Each movement is graded in complexity for better personalization from green, yellow, or red.
  • The Power Generation Test measures your power output through upper body, lower body, core/total body explosive movements. You will learn which part of the body is your power limiting area. Afterall, the golf swing is a power-based movement, where Power = Strength x Speed.
  • Watching your swing on camera in conjunction with a launch monitor helps us relate your golf swing to your body’s flexibility, strength, and body control found in the previous tests.
  • Your “Focus Areas” are specific, individualized areas that need more work. Whether its strength, mobility, pain, power, or coordination, we will help you identify what should take priority to create an efficient and consistent golf swing for your body.

Then what?

Discussion over those “focus areas” will be given alongside corrective exercises and drills. After finding out your GPA and “Focus Areas” we will create your individualized Golf Performance Plan together.

It’s up to you, how you proceed towards your goals.

The first question that should be answered is, “What are your goals?”

  • Improving pain or mobility through physical therapy. Limited function and increased pain are good reasons to initiate physical therapy. Our team of highly skilled, Doctors of Physical Therapy, can create a plan of care to improve your activities of daily living. Our clinic accepts ALL insurances.
  • Increase power, strength, or balance with our Golf Fitness Specialist. Golf is a highly complex sport with a specific sequence of events, involving all planes of movement, activating many muscles and joint motions simultaneously, requiring balance and coordination to make it all happen. Our Golf Fitness Specialist can help identify and improve those areas from the lens of Strength and Conditioning.
  • Improve your game on your own. Many people address their “focus areas” at home or in their preferred gym. A follow-up Golf Performance Assessment is encouraged to continue objectively measuring your progress. As your game improves, so will your GPA.

Any option that leads you towards your goal is a good option. You will never be pressured to purchase anything from us!
